Care Guide
Care for your items
Follow these instructions from our brand's supplier to maintain the color, shape, and quality of your Aura items over time.
Washing — all items
- Wash inside out in cold water (max. 30°C / 86°F)
- Gentle cycle, with similar colors
- Mild detergent — avoid harsh products
- Do not use fabric softener — it can affect the print
- Do not dry clean
- Bleach only if necessary, and only non-chlorine
Drying and ironing
- Prefer air drying, inside out
- Alternatively: tumble dry on low heat
- Iron inside out, with a cool iron / low temperature
- Never iron directly on the print
- Avoid direct sunlight exposure before the first wash
First wash
Upon receiving the item
Vinegar smell
Normal in the direct-to-garment printing process. Comes from the fixation agent that bonds the design to the item. Disappears after the first wash.
Whitish residue
May appear around the print. Also normal and temporary — it will come off in the first wash.
Wash before wearing
We recommend washing the item as soon as you receive it, as instructed by our brand's supplier.
What to do
- Separate light and dark clothes
- Always wash inside out
- Close zippers and drawstrings before washing
- Treat stains with cold water as soon as possible
- Store in a dry and airy place
What to avoid
- Hot washes (above 30°C)
- High-temperature tumble drying — can cause the ink to crack
- Fabric softener, chlorinated bleach, and dry cleaning
- Ironing directly over the design
- Direct sun on new items before washing
Care questions
Will the print fade?
With proper care, the print will remain vibrant for years. Premature fading almost always results from hot washes, high-temperature tumble drying, or direct ironing over the print.
Can I use a tumble dryer?
Yes, but only on low heat. Our brand's supplier indicates air drying as the preferred option but allows low-heat tumble drying. High heat degrades fibers and printing.
Will the item shrink?
Aura items use pre-shrunk fabric, according to our brand's supplier. Shrinkage is minimal if you wash in cold water and inside out.
